This jigsaw from Makita features a brushless DC motor that allows the motor to rotate with less resistance, increasing both the power and the efficiency, and in turn giving much longer battery life from your 18V LXT batteries. The tool is supplied without batteries or a charger to allow us to sell it for a lower price for those who already own at least one Makita LXT power tool. The jigsaw is capable of detecting when there is no load and reduces the speed of the motor to in turn reduce vibration of the machine. The DJV182 has a tradition top-handle design with a trigger underneath the handle that includes a lock-on switch for those longer cutting jobs, allowing you to concentrate on cutting to the line. The saw has a well designed dust extraction port that collects most dust and chippings when combined with a high quality L or M class dust extractor.
